iArch identified a development opportunity on a very restricted site within Rayleigh Town Centre’s conservation area. Challenges included the proximity of several sensitive neighbours, the slope of the site, and restricted access.

Architectural solutions that deliver

Beneath a calm architectural exterior the pair of 3-storey 4-bedroom semi-detached houses maximises the use of the site, creating two unique contemporary properties. Engagement with the authorities, and particularly with the County Council’s Heritage Advisor, led to a larger, more assertive design, making a positive and uncompromisingly contemporary contribution to the conservation area.
